A SOLDIER and five suspected Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahideen militants were killed during clashes that broke out after militants ambushed a military vehicle in the Boni forest area of Lamu County in Kenya's Coast province on 14 January, Reuters reported.
The military vehicle was reportedly travelling to join the Kenyan contingent of AMISOM peacekeepers in Somalia. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack.
