As the US Army begins divesting its Bell OH-58 Kiowa Warrior reconnaissance helicopters, the service is planning to augment its Boeing AH-64 Apache Manned Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) capability to enable the attack helicopter to take the legacy fleet's place, the army's capabilities manager for aerial reconnaissance and attack said during a 28 January press briefing.

The army is developing capability that will enable Apache pilots to control the unmanned aerial vehicles' (UAV) sensors and weapons from the cockpit, said Colonel Jeff White, US Army Training and Doctrine Command capabilities manager for reconnaissance and attack.
